1) There are some weekends I just don't feel like cooking. This was one of them.

2) Liberalism is based largely in either envy or control. At least in modern day America.

3) It is always good to see old friends from the neighborhood in which I grew up.

4) People should have to retake their drivers test every 5 years.

5) I REALLY want a coat like Captain Jack Harkness'! WW2 vintage RAF Greatcoat! YEAH BABY!!!

6) I hate cold, bright sunny days in the winter. My ideal winter day is somewhat cold with gray, cloudy skies.

7) I can't eat pasta without getting sick... until the second day.

8) I FINALLY got rid of that stupid old good-will desk chair and got a pseudo-real one.

9) Tomorrow night, I go over to mom's and pick up my bike. Time to start riding again.

10) Sorry about the Rick-Roll last week, people. But don't worry. IQ points grow back.

1) Congrats to Kelly of the inactive blog Paradoxes and Problems (seen on the unseen blogroll) on the birth of her second child!

2) It is so nice to have Erica-chan and her son stay the weekend! She had Presidents day off. I did not. No worries though. I came home to a VERY clean apartment! What a sweetheart!

3) Bill Clinton said that if he had been in office, we wouldn't have had the economic situation we are in now. I have to completely agree. It would be SO MUCH WORSE!!! I mean seriously!!! What would he have done differently?!? That man rode the Gingrich wave! And the wave of American ingenuity! Much like Kennedy, it was a good time to be President! What an arrogant bastard!!!

4) I still make a mean Cajun Pork Steak!

5) With the Porkulus bill being passed, he total US Federal obligations is now greater than the yearly world GDP.

6) I finally reloaded The Sims 2. Lots o' time-wastin' fun!!!

7) Looks like the mortgage company is going to allow me to do a Short Sell on my house! This does, in fact, rock. If you don't know what it is, look it up.

8) It is hilarious how the Obama admin are now saying that we shouldn't expect "a miracle" from the porkulus bill. Um... THEN WHY THE HELL ARE WE DOING IT?!?

9) Nosferatu type vampires aren't as interesting as the typical Eurotrash types.

1) Flat tires always seem to occur on Sundays at 5:00 PM, 30 miles from home.

2) I still make some seriously KICKIN' lasagna!

3) My mortgage company may let me do a short sell! WOOHOOO!!!

4) Having to file single on my taxes this year, well, that's the hurt'n kind. Financially, that is.

5) I really miss all of the friends I've made in all of the places I've lived. They are the main things I was sorry to leave behind.

6) Off all of the Doctor Who spinoffs, Torchwood is the only one that comes close to equaling the original, and in many cases, exceeding!

7) I still enjoy taking a trip over to Soergel Orchards in Wexford.

8) This warm weather is just wrong! It is winter, so let it feel like winter!

9) I wish there was some way to turn off the moon temporarily. Dang that thing was bright!

10) Saving the best for last, Erica-chan is the most tender hearted girl I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Better late than never!!! Sorry, it has been several long weeks at work.

1) I threw together an impromptu recipe I came up with on the spot of Cajun Fried Rice a few weekends ago. I didn't care for it much, however Erica-chan loved it, and gets giddy when I ask her if she wants it for lunch or dinner. Which brings me to...

2) Never try to make too much fried rice at one time, or it could result in a grease fire. Which brings me to...

3) Cleaning up the remnants of a chemical powder fire extinguisher is a pain in the butt.

4) Horatio Hornblower is still all kinds of awesome! Which brings me to...

5) If you enjoy Horatio Hornblower, you should also enjoy Richard Sharpe, a man promoted to be an officer from the ranks in the British army in the early 1800's. Basically, the same time period of the Hornblower series from the army point of view. Which brings me to...

6) When a man was commissioned from the ranks in the British army in colonial times, he usually retired, as the prejudice he faced from the aristocrat officers was almost unbearable.

7) It is quite amusing to watch Obama's honeymoon period slip from his fingers as he sacrifices our childrens' future in a vain attempt to make America into socialist France. Which brings me to...

8) I'm glad the house Republicans would have nothing to do with abomination of a "stimulus" bill.

9) Christian Bale has become somewhat of a titty-bag.

10) It is nice to get a check every week from my overpayment of alimony from last year. Unfortunately, for my ex, they take it from the amount she is supposed to get. Given that she has quit both jobs she has received within a week because she thought she was too good for them, she is hurting financially. Hopefully she will finally learn a good lesson. I pray that she does. Even though I still have a lot of anger towards her, I don't want to see her suffer, even if it is a result of her own choices.

Gotta love it! He makes some very good points about what we need in Republican candidates: Someone with a good delivery, because unfortunately, that matters more than substance in today's society. This is one of the main reasons that during the primary season I was a supporter of Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney. In fact, if we would have had a Romney / Huckabee ticket, I believe we would have a MUCH different political landscape right now. Conservatives didn't get fired up until McCain picked Palin, and her delivery wasn't all that good. But people were able to relate to her. Huckabee on the other hand had relatability and an excellent delivery, even if he wasn't quite as conservative as we would have liked. But as Alfonzo said, that is small potatoes compared to what we are facing now.

1) It is interesting that when a conservative politician says something against the left, it is called divisive. When Obama says something against the right, it is called a "zing".

2) Chicken Parmigiana on focaccia with a garlic pesto = "The Yum!"

3) I am FINALLY starting to regularly get real sleep!!!

4) It was good for Erica-chan and I to get out and actually go on a date without the lad.

5) Red Hot & Blue has the most interesting chips for their nachos. They are unlike anything I have ever experienced, and they are all kinds of awesome!!!

6) After last night's snow, I have come to the realization that I REALLY need to get my tires rotated!

7) Underworld 3 was, in my opinion, the best of the three. I thought the pacing was much better and it wasn't just action action action. I liked that!

8) This economic stimulus plan is a complete joke!

9) I never ceases to crack me up when someone with a heavy Pittsburgh accent tells me "Yinz 'z ignert!" Especially when wearing a "You can't fix stupid" shirt.

Inauguration Observations

Given that I listen to local talk radio, I couldn't help but hear a good bit of President Obama's inaugural speech. Here's what I took away from it:

- He is going to piss off the hard left as he now faces the realities of office and actually won't be a hippie when it comes to the military.

- The huge lazy-assed-the-world-owes-me-a-cookie portion of Generation Y will be disappointed they still actually have to work.

- President Obama puts the myth of man made global warming up there with terrorism as a threat to this country.

- The one section of the population that will be happy with him is government workers as their numbers are going to swell.

- Those of us who disagree with the direction he wants to take the country are expected to sit down, shut up, and just keep paying the bills. This gives me more nervous ticks than a Lyme disease research facility.

- That Rev. Lowrey is a racist old bastard.

Here is the portion of the inaugural prayer that I am talking about:
"Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around ... when yellow will be mellow ... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. Now, before you get in an uproar, I'm not talking about regular kittens, I'm talking SEA KITTENS!!! Or at least that is what PETA wants to rename fish.

Now personally, a nice grilled Salmon with Cajun seasoning over rice is one of my favorite sea kitten, although deep fried cod is also on the top of the list.

But one can never forget the taste of a perfectly cut raw slice of tuna sea kitten from the fatty belly meat over a small piece of rice, dabbed with wasabi, and dipped in soy sauce. Mmmm MMM!!!

1) When an anorexic woman calls you an a$$hole, the best reply is to say "Well you're fat!"

2) In the middle of a recession, the last thing a President should be saying is that people are going to have to make sacrifices and that things are going to get worse. Considering that our economy is fueled by consumer spending, those kind of comments ARE going to make it worse! What an idiot.

3) Cleaning up after a pipe burst in a vacant house one is trying to sell but can't partially due to #2 in this list is a sucky way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

4) After watching an entire season of Doctor Who, David Tennent is now my second favorite Doctor, right after Tom Baker.

5) I saw a car from New Hampshire. The license plate said "Live Free Or Die". Must suck to be the prisoner making those plates!

6) I really like having evergreen scented candles burning in my apartment.

7) Every now and then when I miss having a dog, I look outside in inclement weather and remember the days of standing outside in it waiting for my dogs to do their business.

8) My apartment really needs some color. And they seem to have quit making those fake ficus trees that were plentiful in the 90's.

9) Monday's aren't too bad when you don't hate your job and live close to work. Just that waking up early crap sucks, but when you have insomnia, problem solved!

1) While I love my mom dearly, having her stay over a night reminds me of why I drank heavily when I was forced to live at home.

2) Getting Beaver County government to do anything, including that which they were supposed to have done, is like pulling teeth. And they will often say they did what you request, even when they haven't, just to get you off the phone.

3) Crock pot + big honkin' pork roast + cajun seasoning + good BBQ sauce + lots o' high quality buns = many days of kick-ass meals.

4) I still suck at bowling.

5) Tuvan Throat Singing is extremely odd, yet interesting.

6) Robert Howard, the man who wrote the Conan the Barbarian books back in the 1930's, committed suicide at the age of 30.

7) I really need to take my Christmas tree down soon.

8) HBO's True Blood series is extremely good.

9) My alimony is dropping to about $150 a week, less than half of what I was paying this past year. My ex-wife also got and cashed out my entire 401k. I also have to pay almost $1,000 a month for mortgage payments on a vacant house that she wanted and I didn't, and yet somehow, I am the greedy bastard here. Go figure.

10) Still no luck on selling the house. Now state governments are asking for 1 trillion dollars in financial bailout money. Banks have been given huge amounts of money, the auto industry has their hands out, and people still aren't spending money, thus making the problem worse. All this, AND MY HOUSE STILL WON'T FRICKIN' SELL!!!

2008 - A Year In Review

As 2008 winds down, I look back on a year of huge personal changes.

- I broke up with my wife of over 15 years, packed up my personal belonging and took my two dogs with me to live with mom. Given that the court gave her 57% of my salary, that was the only option.

- I lost a friend of mine to suicide. This was the man who pushed me over the decision line for getting gastric bypass surgery. A very good man with a good heart who made a very bad decision that he though would ruin his career in law enforcement, a career he loved and knew of nothing else to do with his life. This lead to the decision to end his life, which was another horrible decision in my opinion, although one I can understand, but not agree with.

- I lost both of my dogs, one to bloat and the other to cancer.

- I went from zero credit card debt to being buried thanks to legal fees and having to take my ex's credit card debt (another reason I don't think liberals should hold office, especially as judges).

- I've had three distinctly different yet wonderful girlfriends this year, including the current Unseen Girlfriend, Miss Erica-chan.

- I have been able to reconnect with many old friends now that the fun police is out of my life.

- I have made some amazing new friends! HI MURPH!!! *waves*

- I got to travel to Dallas and see several of my good friends down there.

- I got to travel to Orlando and FINALLY meet Ali and her family.

- I have been gotten to know much of my family again this year, from many of whom I had been isolated as the ex didn't like them.

- I graduated with my BS degree with a 4.0 GPA.

- I received a promotion at work and get to work with fun new technology.

- My alimony has dropped significantly since my divorce was finalized, and today is the last day I am at the 28% mark, as tomorrow it drops to 14%.

- I moved out of mom's into my own place that is 10 minutes from work.

- My general happiness and overall mental well being has SKYROCKETED this year!!!

All in all, while it was year of extreme changes and some major emotional pain, especially losing my friend and my dogs, 2008 was overall a very good year for me.

May 2009 be a fantastic year for you all!
...or at least as much as the Obama administration and Democrat controlled congress will allow it. After all, for one person to enjoy life while another who made consistently bad choices suffers JUST ISN'T FAIR!!!
Heh heh.

And pray that my house sells soon!!!

1) Facebook is addicting!

2) Trader Joe's banana bread is still the best!

3) Doctor Who has really come a long way since the days of Tom Baker (who is STILL my favorite Doctor) and incidental music by Dudley Simpson.

4) Joe the Plumber has written a book, and the New York Times has written a scathing editorial against him. Said editorial will give you a glimpse into their elitist, self righteous, and narrow minded world. One of the great things about America is that anyone can do anything. The New York Times (or rather Timothy Egan) sees things differently. To Timothy Egan, I offer an extended middle finger. What a douchebag!!!

5) This past weekend, I bought some Tamales and served them over Cajun Fried Rice. The rice turned out amazing! The tamales, well, they were fair.

6) Except for my niece, I have all of my Christmas shopping done.

7) Saturday night I managed to sleep through the entire night! WOOHOO!!! I honestly don't remember doing that since July! I'm sure I have, but July is the last time that stands out in my mind. Unfortunately, this doesn't look to be the start of a new trend, as I sit here at 2:30 AM typing this.

8) After much bureaucracy fighting, I finally got them to recognize the fact that my alimony is supposed to drop by half as of the first of the year. Got the letter confirming said justice on Friday! WOOHOO!!!

9) When I have more disposable income, I think I am going to get myself a Geiger counter. DAMNIT WILLOW!!! You are rubbing off on me!!! Although in my defense, I am going to claim "Cool Tech Toy" on this one.

10) The TV show Big Bang Theory leaves me laughing so hard my side hurts.

1) East Side Deli in Pittsburgh Mills Mall is absolutely horrible and overpriced. In fact, for such a big, new, and nice mall, Pittsburgh Mills has a terrible food court.

2) At the end of the month, my alimony payments are due to go down. However, my ex's lawyer didn't file the paperwork correctly to have it do so. Gee, imagine that! Further shocker, he is ignoring my calls!

3) Walking With Dinosaurs was absolutely amazing!

4) I have impressed the Unseen Girlfriend's parents with my culinary skills!

5) In X-Mart, I actually heard someone say that they were two months behind on their mortgage, but they weren't worried because Obama was taking office next month, so they weren't going to bother to try and catch up. After all, they had Christmas shopping to do!

6) How 'bout them gas prices? I understand the dems are entertaining a proposal to put a tax on gas that will be the difference between $4.00 a gallon and the current price. Yeah, go with that and see how long your reign of terror will last.

7) The brand of Ice Wine I bought this weekend had a significantly higher alcohol content that I was expecting!

8) I can no longer eat spaghetti due to the surgery I had two years ago. I believe this was the first time I tried. Odd how certain foods just throw my system into "reverse gears" now.

9) Facebook is downright addicting!

10) Playing with a baby bloodhound is a sure fire way to pick up the mood.

Stupidest Thing I Ever Heard

Yesterday, I was doing some Christmas shopping at Starbucks. I have several relatives that LIVE for coffee! Anyway, since Starbucks is often frequented by members of the left, I overheard the following conversation...

Libtard 1: "Al Frankin is so close [in the senatorial election in Minnesota]. Can you believe he is only 500 or so votes behind?"
Libtard 2: "He is so close, they should just give it to him."
Libtard 1: "Yeah, it would only be right."

The IQ of the entire room just suddenly DROPPED! I had to grab hold of my brain-power and hold on for dear life to keep it from being sucked into the negative energy stupidity vortex that suddenly formed.

Think of this from Norm Colman's perspective! "Sorry, Senator. While you won the election, you didn't win by much, so we are giving your seat to your opponent."

1) Corvus Corax has some awesome music! H/T Kristine.

2) In Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal Lector never blinks on camera.

3) Having the Unseen Girlfriend and her son hang out at my place for a long weekend is great!

4) I really need to start exercising more. And buy a small Christmas tree.

5) A cow can walk up a flight of stairs, but not down. I would have hated to be the person to find THAT out!

6) On this new-ish computer, every time I shut down Guild Wars, Windows Media Center runs. Go figure.

7) I still can't eat thick crust pizza.

8) Low cost artificial plants / trees that were popular back in the 90's are almost impossible to find these days. Shame too because my apartment could use some color.

9) Fabreeze candles really do make a room smell great.

10) Never ever EVER go to the Homestead Waterfront on the day after Black Friday!

10 Things I Learned This Weekend (Part 129)

1) Laser pointer in the eye = PAIN!!! Said eye is still a bit out of focus this morning, but getting better.

2) I really love snowfall at night. It is so serene and relaxing. The only negative is what it did to traffic on Friday night that delayed my seeing of the Unseen Girlfriend until Saturday morning. That totally sucked.

3) I have to wonder if we are setting ourselves up for long term failure by propping these busiensses up with massive bailouts. If their business models led them to this point, maybe they should just be allowed to die so something better can be reborn in their place, especially with the US car companies and the ridiculous contracts they have with the Unions!

4) The nanny-state mentality is getting out of hand. San Francisco has banned residential fires on certain winter days. No fireplaces, no wood burning stoves, etc. How long before this kind of crap is manditory accross the country? And what's next?

5) Piper's Pub still has excellent food. Kind of sucks when the waitress is in a bit of a snit, though. Won't be going back for a long time. If you are waitstaff and having a bad day, fake it. If you can't that day, take the day off. If you can't do that, maybe its time to think about a different line of work.

6) The British apparently have a habit of eating baked beans on toast. I wonder if the baked bean sauce is the same as it is here. It just strikes me as strange, as I'm sure peanut butter and jelly sandwiches does to them.

7) Hard to believe that the Christmas shopping season is almost here.

8) I've never had much of an opinion on the whole same-sex marriage thing. As far as I'm concerned, I don't care what anyone does, as long as I don't have to pay for it or morally accept it. However, eHarmony was SUED because it didn't offer same-sex matching, and with THAT I have a huge problem! eHarmony is a private company. It isn't funded by the government. The government has NO business telling a private company how to run a business! There are plenty of same-sex dating sites out there. Use one of them if you don't like eHarmony's business model!

9) Speaking about same-sex marriage, have you noticed the things going on in California over the passing of Proposition 8? Storming churches, assaults, harassment of people who donated money... If they came into my church screaming and throwing condoms around, I'd be more than happy to help the Pastor forcibly show them the door. There was a vote and you lost, people! Deal with it! We had to this time around!

10) Pizza Hut has really gone down hill. Ordered a large two topping thin crust pizza over the internet. With tip, it came to $22! Screw that. Never again. And I think they changed their sauce, which is a big no.

Getting Colder - An Explaination

As many of you may have noticed, it has been getting colder earlier in the year. As the graph below shows, we have turned the corner on global warming.

Now, it is a scientific fact that global warming is caused by lack of piracy. As the chart below clearly shows, the fewer pirates there are, the warmer the global temperature.

As further proof, in the last few years, piracy has increased dramatically. Below are the incidents of piracy in 2008 alone!

So,who's to blame for the cold weather?

1) Samuel L Jackson put more life into the character of Nick Fury in 20 seconds on Iron Man than David Hasselhoff put into the entire 1998 movie. The Hoff as Nick Fury is the cinematic equivalent of someone dropping a car battery on my sack!

2) I never tire of bad 70's sci-fi about dystopic futures. Death Race 2000 was so bad it was excellent!

3) After 13 days of being sick, I think I've finally turned the corner.

4) Using chunks of steak in place of hamburger in Hamburger Helper Beef Stroganoff actually makes it taste quite good! Although you have to flash fry the steak in a little oil to make it somewhat tender.

5) This weekend was the second time I've cooked stuffed shells since I've moved into my own place. It is also the second time I've gotten sick off of it. I think it may have been the pure mozzarella cheese (in case you are just tuning in, I had gastric bypass surgery 2 years ago and don't have much of a stomach left). I may try it without the cheese cover next time.

6) I genuinely feel bad for Barak Obama. His mother in law is moving into the White House with them. Nothing good can come of this.

7) The final battle sequence of Fallout 3 is amazing! The actual ending of the game leaves a lot to be desired.

8) Saw an episode of Doctor Who with the newest Doctor for the first time this weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

9) I really miss having a dog.

10) I lowered the price of my house yet again. I REALLY needs to sell!!! Now that the election is over and things are actually starting to stabilize a bit, hopefully it will... A little help here, please, God....

1) I hate being sick. I don't get sick very often, and when I do, it usually isn't too bad, but this time, I'm going on a week. Started in the sinuses, then the throat, now it has settled in my chest. Blech!

2) Nyquil is wonderful... unless you want to actually get up and move around the next day!

3) When cooking baked ziti, use FAR less spice additives if you are using ground hot sausage than if you are using ground beef.

4) Every time the Unseen Girlfriend and her son are over for the weekend, either O Brother Where Art Thou or Hot Fuzz will be on TV at some point.

5) Fallout 3 is a lot of fun when you replace the background MP3's with Western music.

6) Ichiban's new restaurant opens today near where I live / work. Very dangerous to my bank account.

7) The ex told off our realtor this past weekend! AAARGH!!! I had to call and apologize and told her to just deal with me. Dropped the house price yet again. Hopefully I'll be getting some interest this time!

8) The little pizza delivery place near my new appartment is very good and reasonably priced!

9) Barry Obama is expected to undo a lot of Bush's progress with executive orders on his first day. Yeah, that figures. Gotta wonder how President Obama will differ from Candidate Obama.

10) Gas prices are dropping for now. But don't worry. Barry will fix that when he gets in office and prices will be up around $6.50 a gallon where the left thinks they should be.

Bankrupt people who build new coal plants, eh? Given that about 80% of the electricity generated in this area of the country is done so using coal, this will make the cost of electricity skyrocket!

You people who vote Democrat are going to get what you deserve. He is going to drag you down and make you even with the poor. You will be spending a lot more on electricity, gasoline, and natural gas, which will translate into a lot more for every single product in your lives. And you deserve it! I have a friend in Texas who owns a business. He said he is going to have to lay off 10% of his workforce if Obama's taxes go through. He also said he has made a list of people that work for him who have Obama bumper stickers... and they are the ones who will be getting laid off. Good!

1) Entitlement spending is growing out of control. Obama wants to add more entitlement spending, which we simply can't afford.

2) No matter what the tax rate is, federal revenue hasn't gone outside of 7.9 and 9.2 percent of GDP, thus the only way to increase revenue to the government is to grow the economy. High taxes will not grow the economy, nor will they increase revenue.

3) Federal tax revenue is higher now than it ever has been under Bush's tax plan. So much for the liberal emotional non-argument that Bush has given all of our money to the rich!

4) I have never heard anyone give me a logical reason to elect Barry Obama. It is always emotional.

5) Clerks II was my second favorite Kevin Smith movie. Saw it for the first time this weekend. Mall Rats was my favorite.

6) Ripping up carpeting is harder than it sounds, especially when the carpet boards were put down by a perfectionist machinist who used nails instead of carpet tacks.

7) Run Fatboy Run was yet another excellent movie by Simon Pegg! When it comes to movies, that man can do no wrong! The only thing it was missing was Nick Frost.

8) The fall time change is a great thing indeed!

9) Journey to the center of the earth was yet another extremely good movie I saw this weekend, in a "shut the brain off and watch something fun" kind of way. Far too many impossibilities that kept bothering me, like if the temperature was going to rise to 200 degrees, why was there anything alive down there?

10) Just remember folks, Republicans vote on Tuesday and Democrats vote on Wednesday!

I picked up Fallout 3 today at lunch. Got the last one that GameStop had. Being a huge fan of the entire series, needless to say, I have been awaiting this game since I first heard of it last year.

The interface is a bit clunky at first, but I quickly got used to it. The character creation is very in depth. You start at your character's birth and you play through the major events in his or her life. By the time the prologue was over, my heart was actually pounding with sweet nerdy excitement!

I'm not going to rush through this game. It is one that must be savored. The very feel of it is something that very few games have ever captured. I love the retro-futuristic aspects, as in what the world would have been like if things had progressed the way the 1950's had predicted.

1) Our thoughts and prayers are with Darrell of The Southern Conservative for a quick and speedy recovery.

2) I've added two more blogs to The Unseen Blogroll: The Average American and Bloviating Zeppelin. Both very good reads.

3) In spite of the fact that many people I know work for a business that will have their taxes raised higher than their profit margin if Barry O gets in, many of these people are STILL voting for him! But hey! Even though it will cost them their livelihood and knock them down the socio-economic ladder, they will be causing a minor annoyance to their rich employers. "YEAH!!! STICK IT TO THE MAN!!!"

4) Anyone notice that Obama changed his $250k and up tax hike to $200k and up? How long before it becomes $42k and up?

5) Speaking of taxes, gotta wonder if when Obama is talking about a tax cut for 95% of Americans if he is only talking about a tax rate cut. What about payroll taxes? What about deductions for charitable contributions, education, and mortgages? What about capital gains taxes? There are so many variables to play with. Suffices to say that most of us will be paying more dollars in taxes with less of a job market.

6) Sometimes I really miss my dogs. And weird things like songs and such will trigger it.

7) I had another great weekend with The Unseen Girlfriend and her son.

8) Space heaters can be a real life saver!

9) This is getting ridiculous. My house REALLY needs to sell! Yet another bit of collateral damage to the liberal war on prosperity.

I'm really disturbed over the treatment of Joe the Plumber.

In case you've been living under a rock, Joe the Plumber asked Barak Obama if he buys a business which makes over $250k a year, will he be taxed more? Obama said yes, he wants to spread the wealth around.

Joe immediately became the subject of media scrutiny as he dared to question "The Enlightened One". Stories came out about how he owes back taxes, how he isn't a licensed plumber (which he doesn't need to be since he works for a licensed plumber), how he is a liar because he doesn't make $250k a year (even though he said he was getting ready to buy the business), and the attacks just went on and on.

Is this what is in store for anyone who dares question Barry Obama? Character assassination?

A guy I work with who is extremely intelligent but not in the LEAST grounded in reality said that Joe the Plumber deserved the treatment he got, as it is HIS fault for standing out in the first place, so he was asking for it. Other liberals I know said the same thing. That is no different than saying that when a girl goes out wearing a sexually provocative outfit, it is her fault if she gets raped for standing out in the first place, as she was asking for it. He didn't have much to say about the subject after that.

Where this country is going is downright frightening. It is no longer acceptable to merely debate the issues (as the left will lose almost all of the time), they must now resort to character destruction in the face of opposition. And far too many people see absolutely nothing wrong with this. I am getting so sick of the childish attitudes, the sense of entitlement, and whole Orwellian doublespeak that is becoming the norm.

1) It has been 90 days since my divorce was filed. As soon as I get the paper to sign, I shall be officially divorced. YAY!!!

2) There was a time when someone who wanted to take the money people worked for and use it to keep people enslaved in order to further their power were called villains. Today, we call them Democrats and the villains are those of us who want to see people keep more of what they earn, while those who won't work or who choose to allow everyone else in society to take care of aspects of their lives when they could take care of them themselves are considered noble victims.

3) Hot Fuzz is almost as good as Shawn Of The Dead, as Nick Frost and Simon Pegg mace an excellent comedy team.

4) Even though everything was great economically in 2006, the people threw the Republicans out of office and installed the Democrats in congress. Since then, things have gone down hill. Yet for some reason, they STILL want to give the Democrats MORE power! And funny, things in the 1990's didn't really pick up until Congress was taken over by the Republicans! Odd how most people don't realize that there is a lot of power in Congress. Gotta wonder if they will figure it out before the left's policies cause food riots in America.

5) A woman in Squirrel Hill called Quinn this morning and talked about having her McCain / Palin sign taken from her yard, and in its place was a sign that read something like "My logic trumps your 1st amendment rights as I have to live in this neighborhood too and I'm not going to allow blah blah blah blah blah insert emotional non-thought containing liberal talking points here!" So much for equal freedoms for everyone! I have a sneaking suspicion that it shall very quickly be enacted into law. I also find it interesting that they used the word "logic" when apparently their logic consists of "You have it, I want it, so I have the right to take it from you!"

6) With fall / winter comes nosebleeds for me. Dangit!

7) I really enjoy getting to cook for people again.

8) With ACORN registering hundreds of thousands of fraudulent voter registrations (potentially over 200,000 in Ohio alone), I don't hold out much hope for this election. And I don't expect the incoming Democrats to do much about it, as a crime is only a crime when it negatively impacts them. And sometimes a non-crime is a crime when it negatively impacts them!

9) I really want to get to a haunted house sometime this Halloween. Been ages since I have been able to do so.

Officer Tim Conboy touched a lot of lives. And he saved a lot of lives, mine included. When I was tossing around the idea of gastric bypass surgery, I probably wouldn't have gone through with it if it hadn't been for Tim's encouragement and example.

What I Learned This Weekend

In light of some events that occurred this weekend, I am dispensing with the ten things list for this week. A good friend of mine from childhood, who I have drifted apart from since high school but in years past was getting to know again, shot and killed himself Saturday night. Tim was nudge who finally got me to commit to gastric bypass surgery. He had it himself a year before I did. Details are sketchy, but according to mom, police have been at his mom's house (where he killed himself) all day today.

Tim was a good man. Police officer and paramedic, he was always there with a wave and a smile. He will be sorely missed. Please keep his family and his girlfriend's family in your prayers for a while if you don't mind.

So, what I learned this weekend: Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem and is never an option.

1) Absolutely loving the new place. The freedom, the quiet, the low rent, the space, and the 10 minute commute... absolutely sublime.

2) In spite of the fact that the current economic climate can be laid directly at the feet of the democrats and their insistence on pretending the world is what it isn't, since everything blew up on Bush's watch (even though things didn't really go to hell until the Dems took over congress), your average sheeple believes it is his fault. And since the main stream media is solidly in Barry Hussein's corner, they are just fine with allowing people to keep that perspective.

3) Joe Biden is a slimy bastard, and Sarah Palin did a FANTASTIC job at the debate! Mind you, she didn't do a fantastic job the way Dick Cheney did, whomping on Leiberman or absolutely cutting Edwards to ribbons, she "won" the debate in the same way Kennedy "won" the Nixon/Kennedy debate.

4) Thomas (aka Sprocket), Dave (aka Russolini), Bob (aka Right Bleedin'), and Erica (aka The Unseen Girlfriend) are four of the best friends a person could have. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the help with moving. Especially considering that my apartment is on the second floor.

5) Independent contractor furniture delivery men can be some of the laziest people in the service sector. After telling me there was no way to get my couch and chair into the apartment, me and the maintenance men got them in just fine. The tip for the delivery men went to the maintenance men.

6) Pulling everything out of storage, I've encountered a lot of "shield bugs". Where are the colonial marines when you need them for a bug hunt! "Secure that shit, Hudson!"

7) I hate putting together Sauder furniture.

8) Red Socks and a monkey in the trunk! Even though the Speed Racer movie was geared towards kids and completely over the top, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

9) I could make a meal out of pan seared cajun zucchini.

10) Survival Tip: Nuke 'em from orbit. Its the only way to be sure.

1) Verizon is often made of suck and fail. Given that this coming Friday is moving day, I tried to set up internet service starting October 2nd. They said it wouldn't be a problem, but they had to set up phone service first. I said fine, as long as the internet was on by October 2nd. I called to verify, and they had the phone scheduled for October 2nd and the internet for October 10th! I canceled and I am going with Comcast.

2) The Unseen Girlfriend's son's birthday was this weekend. Few things give such pure joy as a child's eyes light up at a much desired after gift.

3) Bite Fight is an entertaining web-based game.

4) I have FINALLY experienced Gastric Dumping Syndrome! No more sugar for me! It was very unpleasant, but at least I won't be tempted to eat sugar any longer! Thanks to the Unseen Girlfriend for being there when I went through it.

5) The Mon Valley Expressway was SUCH a pork barrel project! Every time I'm on it, there is about a 50% chance I'll see someone else on it going in the same direction I am. I usually see seven or eight cars per mile going the opposite direction.

6) Three day work week! And four days until moving day! Two days until I take possession of my apartment! WOOHOO!!!

7) Craig's List is a wonderful thing. Got a really nice 24 inch TV for $15! Perfect for the guest bedroom!

8) McCain had the opportunity to really put the slam on Obama this Friday with the financial bailout. The entire sub-prime mortgage situation can be laid directly at the Democrats' feet, and he should have smacked Obama with these facts. All in all, though, they both did a very good job. A lot of people were saying that Obama would shred him in the debates. Um... nope.

9) My divorce can become final on October 19th. Yay!!!

1) Going to The Pittsburgh Renaissance Faire on the first nice weekend in three weeks is sure to find throngs of crowds. At least they are doing good though. Unfortunately, I think next year, I'll end up going the opening weekend so as to avoid some of the crowds.

2) The Melting Pot... Mmmm... Good Eat'n! I took my girlfriend there on Friday night. Great food, and even better company!

3) Warhammer online completely sucks. It is like they cloned World Of Warcraft! They had excellent potential with that game, had they patterned it off of the Warhammer role playing game. Unfortunately, they made it a different flavor of most of the MMORPGs out there.

4) Moving day quickly approaches. I can't wait!

5) Boys are easy to shop for for their birthdays.

6) Henchman 24... Rest in peace. *weep* Of course once Brock Sampson shaved off his mullet, that was pretty much all she wrote.

7) I can't keep down spaghetti anymore. Tried it for the first time since the surgery. No dice. It was a shame, too, because I made it absolutely kick butt!

8) Sleeping 14 hours on a Sunday makes Sunday a great day!

One of the things I've noticed about the liberals I regularly come in contact with is they are completely narcissistic. Everything is me me me me ME!!! And since liberalism is basically abandoning all logic in favor of emotion, one can understand why.

What brought on mentioning this well known observation was the reaction of some liberal women at work who were furious about McCain picking Sarah Palin as his running mate. They were convinced that McCains reasons for picking her were to steal away Hillary supporters like themselves and they were INSULTED!!!

Now, McCain may have picked up a few people who were voting for Hillary, not because she is a liberal but because she is a woman, but the main reason I believe he picked her was to energize the Republican base.

Its amazing! Absolutely everything financially that ails the country today can be laid DIRECTLY at the Democrats feet, if you look back far enough! Low dollar? Bad federal debt, which is caused by 60% of our federal budget being eaten up by entitlements that the Democrats put in place! High gas prices? Low dollar (see above) and their refusal to allow us to drill for our own oil or build new nuke plants! High food prices? High gas prices and using our farming capacity for a bio-fuels pipe dream! Trade deficit? $800 billion leaving our economy every year for oil because we can't drill for our own! Housing / Loan crisis? Started with the Community Reinvestment Act in 1979 which mandated that lenders give loans to people who don't qualify, which Clinton put on steroids in 1995! I used to work for a mortgage company and if you want to find yourself skewered alive, only give loans to people who qualify and thus not having a "proper socio-economic" mix in your portfolio! Job losses? See ALL of the above!

Barry Hussein Obama's solution? MORE OF THE SAME!!! HOLY CRAP!!! ARE PEOPLE INSANE?!?!?!?

Generally, they are just mislead. They believe that since Bush is in office, everything MUST be his fault! Which its not, and I've yet to have ANYONE on the left even come close to proving that it is! An Obama deciple came to the door the other day and tried, but it all went back to the same tired old leftist answers that have failed time and time again every time they are tried. Raise taxes on the rich and corporations and redistribute wealth to lift people out of poverty. This in an of itself is retarded, as no one can lift someone out of poverty anymore than I can go to the gym and work out for someone else. Plus, they deny the basic economic reality that money will always go where it is treated the best. Look at Haliburton! They moved to the UAE, and I can't say I blame them!

But that is nothing compared to what will happen if Barry Hussein and the Democrats get in control of everything. It really is a frightening thought. Double digit unemployment, inflation, and interest rates, negative economic growth, gasoline at $10-$15 a gallon, food riots, shredding of the First Amendment, and more and more government control of our lives.

1) It is no wonder the left is putting out lie after lie about McCain and Palin. Even if said lies are easily refuted there are so many people out there who just choose to believe them, and no matter how much evidence is shown to them to the contrary, the lies are facts to them. Like a guy I was talking to this weekend who said the only reason McCain might win is because Ohio and Florida have those "hacked voting machines" that will allow the Republicans to commit voter fraud. After all, NO ONE will actually vote for McCain/Palin, so the ONLY CONCEIVABLE reason that they might win is voter fraud! *rolls eyes*

2) As moving day quickly approaches, I've found that I have less and less desire to drink.

3) Apparently Keanu Reeves is a very nice guy in real life, and can really put away the alcohol. However, don't tell his personal friend that he can't act. Some people just can't handle the truth. HA!

4) Greenspan needs to start taking his retirement seriously and shut the hell up. Every time he opens his mouth, it affects the market negatively, whether it is true or not.

5) On the one day I have outdoor plans, it rains. Go figure.

6) It was good seeing bio-mom, bio-gran, and Generic NPC on Friday night. They got to meet the girlfriend and her son.

7) I've been having such a craving for those cheap cardboard pizzas lately. I really don't get it!

8) I now have all of my utilities scheduled to come on the day before I move into my new apartment and I bought most of the new furniture I'll need. Just need to get a new TV and TV stand and I'll be golden!

So basically, he made what was meant to be an innocuous comment that was poorly worded, had it taken out of context, emotionally extrapolated to mean something that it was never meant to, and people are showing righteous indignation over how offensive it was, and he's upset about it?

1) With my final on-call for my old position ending, I feel like I'm going on vacation turning in the pager this morning. WOOHOO!!!

3) Speaking of Obama, they opened a campaign headquarters on my way home from work in the ghetto. I'll have fun with that for the next month until I move. BWAHAHAHA!!!

4) I have the worlds most AWESOME sister!!! Not something new I learned, as this has been evident for years, but I thought I would reiterate it!

5) The movie Flesh + Blood is 40 kinds of wrong.

6) Low key dates can be just as much fun as activity-based ones if you are with the right person. And I am with the right person! Erica-chan is an amazing woman!

7) I am so friggen' bloody sick of fast food and microwave dinners!

8) The worst thing about Age Of Conan is the gankers. Ganking is a term used in player vs player combat when the fight is incredibly one sided, like killing someone as soon as they rez, killing someone in the middle of a fight with a monster, or killing someone 40 levels below you. Gankers SUCK!!! And they whine like little bitches when it is done to them. HA!

9) Last month I had a root canal. The temporary filling fell out an hour later, so I've had to make sure I have tooth picks handy at all times. Today I get the crown put on. FINALLY!!!

New Digs

As most of you know, I have been going through a divorce for the past 9 months. I also have my house on the market, which by the terms of my useless Realtor's contract must be empty. And to top it off, I have been paying a butt-load in alimony to my soon to be ex wife. Thus, I have been living with mom and my aunt since January.

Now don't get me wrong, I love my mom dearly. However, being 39 and living briefly at home without the stabilization factor of my dad in mom's life is enough to drive one to drink, which I have been!

So, since alimony drops in half in December, and I am getting a rather nice sized bonus from work next week, I signed the lease for a new apartment! WOOHOO!!! In 23 days, I officially take possession! In 25, I move in.

There are quite a number of things I will NOT miss living here in West Mifflin, PA with family:

- The 45 minute commute to work through non-highway stoplight ridden streets. With my McCain and anti-Obama bumper stickers, I usually get flipped off a number of times as I drive through the "arts & croissant crowd" neighborhood, then get rocks thrown at my car as I drive through the ghetto. My apartment is 10 minutes from work during rush hour.

- Not being able to cook. You see, mom is a pack rat. And she has a small house. And my aunt lives here too. Thus, there is never any room in the refrigerator for any food, and I hear about it if I throw something away. Yes, I bought my own little fridge, but mom filled that up too. Plus there is usually a pile of papers on the stove. I am SO looking forward to being able to cook again! I really love cooking. It is a passion of mine, sadly enough.

- Shit-a-lanches. With mom being a pack rat, there are teetering piles of shit everywhere. Every now and then, an ant will crawl across it or someone will exhale in that general direction, and a big pile of said shit will tumble across one of the walking paths through the house.

- Pet Pads! Mom has a yappy little chihuahua who was never trained to go to the bathroom outside. So mom keeps pet pads in the kitchen and dining room for the Mexican Sewer Rat to piss and poop on, which get changed infrequently. That reminds me, I'm due for a tetnis shot.

- Being pestered for beer. One of the neighbors has a 24 year old daughter who dropped out of college 5 years ago to pursue the world of alcoholism. She is unemployed and has no shame. When her parents run out of alcohol in the house, which they do quite frequently, she will wait outside for a neighbor to get home from work and pester them for alcohol. I can't tell you how many times I hear "Hey *hidden*, got any beer???" or "Don't get too comfortable, I need you to take me to the bar to get a sixpack! By the way, got any money?" Sad, really. She needs to go into rehab.

- The Spanish Inquisition! I'm 39. When I go out with my girlfriend and get home at 2:00 AM, I don't need 50 questions. When I wake up at 5:00 AM, I don't need 50 questions. When I stub my toe on the remnants of a shit-a-lanch, I don't need 50 questions! If I wanted someone constantly asking me what I was doing, I would have stayed married!!!

- Less noise-created migraines. I don't know what it is about older people, but they love to have all of the TVs in the house on different channels. Plus, going deaf, they turn them WAY up! I guess they want the constant noise to remind them that they aren't dead.

Yes, I am QUITE looking forward to having my own place again. Ah, sweet freedom.

1) Age Of Conan is quite the MMORPG awesomeness! Canceled my subscription to City Of Heroes, in accordance with my one MMORPG at a time rule.

2) I detest being on call! Especially over a holiday weekend! Don't get me wrong, I love my job and work for a fantastic company. This is just one aspect I don't like. Good news is I that with my new promotion and transitioning to the new team, this will likely be my last one... until budget season when I go on support for three months in a row.

3) This weekend was DragonCon in Atlanta. I had tickets, and was supposed to go with my ex-girlfriend, but when we broke up, I didn't really want to go. Instead, I gave the tickets to my sister Generic-NPC. Her and her dad went instead and had an Uber-geek-alicious time! I'm just glad that the tickets didn't go to waste! And that I could do something nice for several members of the Bio-family. While they were there, they got mom on the cell phone and gave the phone to Robert Picardo, of whom bio-mom is the ultimate fangirl. She was so happy she got to talk to him that she cried.

4) The former tenants are out of my new apartment! I am going to ask the landlord if I can get in there and gather the lay of the land, so to speak.

5) I can't wait to get back to writing. That is a resolution of mine for when I get into the new apartment. 29 days and counting!!! And 49 days until my divorce is final! WOOHOO!!!

6) Not being able to sleep sucks. This happens occasionally, and has ever since I stopped sleeping in my own bed, which is currently in storage.

7) I am also looking forward to cooking real meals again. I'm a hell of a good cook. Shame to see such talents go to waste in lew of fast food, microwave meals, and the food of evil itself, which brings me to...

8) HOT POCKETS BAD!!!

9) In political arguments, so many people argue against Bush without straying outside the "Bush is stupid" line. If someone says that, I can immediately dismiss anything else they have to say as a political commentary since they are obviously, politically, emotional fools.

1) Rent has been paid for my new place. Can't wait to move in! Still have the house on the market, though, and with the concerted effort of the powers that be to tank the economy while Bush is in office by creating uncertainty, that is quite the albatross around my neck.

3) It was really nice to take the girlfriend and her son up to my family's cabin near the Yough dam. I didn't remember just how many bugs there were around there, though.

4) I hate having weird dreams about still being in school and in a final that I'm not prepared for. Or that my teeth are falling out.

Yes, after a year and a half on hiatus, I've decided to bring this Monday morning feature back to ye olde hidden blog.

1) County fairs in rural counties are a good place to go if you are mullet hunting.

2) My political beliefs have been formed from over 25 years of soul searching, analysis, and deep reflective thought. Telling me "Bush is stupid" isn't going to make me change my mind. After all, Bush is smarter than 90% of the American public, statistically. And yes, I actually had a liberal tell me that just listening to them for 5 minutes would get ANY conservative to change their mind and embrace liberalism. I wanted to pat him on the head and say "Awww, what a cute little clueless leftist."

3) Business travel is over for the foreseeable future! YAY!!!

4) I'm moving into my own place again on October 1st! WOOHOOO!!! Yes, paying alimony, credit cards, mortgage, and student loans has kept me living with family for the past 8 months.

5) The Melting Pot is the perfect place to take a special someone for a birthday dinner. Happy Birthday, Erica-chan!!! I have an extremely awesome girlfriend!!! I really like her son, too.

6) From what the above mentioned girlfriend, the ex, and other female platonic friends tell me about how most men are, it almost makes me ashamed of my gender. However, I just have to remind myself of one fact: Men, like women, are people. And people suck.

7) It really sucks when Netflix's shipping system goes down.

8) If you find a nail in your tire, don't pull it out. It only makes the hole bigger. Instead, get it to a tire place and have them patch it.

9) Before my gastric bypass surgery, I used to hate most seafood, preferred dark beers, and almost lived off of meat and potatoes-type food (with the smattering of simple carbs throughout the day). Now, I love seafood, can't drink anything with more flavor than Coors Light, and regularly make a meal out of zucchini and squash szechwan.

10) Survival Tip: If you are being eaten by a bear, play dead. By the time he's left only your left arm, he'll lose interest and wander away.

Either Scott Rasmussen needs to seriously restructure his survey sampling techniques or we are in some serious trouble!

Recently, he did a poll on whether or not the Federal Government should dictate what can and can't be said as far as political speech goes. Here are the results:

Nearly half of Americans (47%) believe the government should require all radio and television stations to offer equal amounts of conservative and liberal political commentary, but they draw the line at imposing that same requirement on the Internet. Thirty-nine percent (39%) say leave radio and TV alone, too.

At the same time, 71% say it is already possible for just about any political view to be heard in today’s media, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Twenty percent (20%) do not agree.

Fifty-seven percent (57%) say the government should not require websites and blog sites that offer political commentary to present opposing viewpoints. But 31% believe the Internet sites should be forced to balance their commentary

What the HELL is the matter with these people? Generally speaking, liberals have print media and the TV news, and conservatives have the radio. We share the internet. What do you think they will go after first? You got it! Radio.

I wonder how many of these people actually believe that NPR and the mainstream media, currently fawning all over Barry Hussein Obama, to be balanced. My guess is most of them.

If there was a market for liberal talk or more conservative television, said market would be catered to. However, Air America is in its death throws.

The truly frightening thing is that they want blogs to be regulated. All of these are just an attempt to stifle opposing political speech and are BLATANTLY and INARGUABLEY Unconstitutional!!!

I pulled this editorial out of a local newspaper here in Chicago that lambastes McCain for saying that the high gas prices are to be laid at the feet of policies like those that Obama supports. The author goes on to say that why don't be just blame Obama for other things too?

First off, yes, policies like Obama's ARE mostly to blame! The price of gas is directly linked to the price of oil. There's this little equation called supply and demand. In a speculative market like oil futures (oil is a commodity, after all), price can be driven up by FEAR of lack of supply! Everyone wants to make sure they get their oil, so they bid on it, and hence, it drives up the price. Obama's solution is to inflate our tires, to which he uses the assumption that we are ALL driving around on under inflated tires as the basis of his "fuzzy math" that it will save as much oil as we can expect from new drilling offshore.

First off, we can't inflate our way out of this, to steal the term from Limbaugh. Second, we have to increase the supply! Drill in ANWR, the Bakkan range, the shale, etc! In the mean time, go forward with nuclear power until we can make nuclear fusion a reality!

I thought I would offer a quick analysis of the other things he wrote...

- Higher food prices: Um, yes, this is being caused by high gas / diesel prices! Cause and effect and all. It'll bite you on the ass every time. Unfortunately, many on the left are too short sighted to realize this.

- The horrendous economy: First off, we are not in a recession! The economy is slow growing, largely BECAUSE OF HIGH OIL PRICES!!! $700,000,000 a year leaving our economy is NOT A GOOD THING!!!

- The absence of universal health care for all Americans: He stated this like it was a BAD thing! Its not! Universal health care would inarguably be a disaster! I've covered why on several other posts.

- The impossible mortgage problem for people wanting to buy homes, not to mention the foreclosures: As far as I know, people can still buy homes. The home crisis was largely caused by three factors. 1) People being too stupid to realize that they can't afford them when the adjustable rates go up, 2) Real estate securities being allowed to be backed by essentially air, which can be traced back to the Clinton administration, 3) The above mentioned economic slowdown, and POSSIBLY 4) mortgage companies having to comply with equal lending laws, having to give loans to people who don't qualify to fulfill racial quotas, but I don't have hard data on that one so I won't back it.

- The endangered animals and plants and the pollution of the world's oceans: The US is one of the cleanest countries in the world as a ratio of GDP.

- Man made global warming: Not happening, as I've mentioned before in previous posts.

- The federal deficit: And why is the deficit so high? GOVERNMENT SPENDING!!! 60% of the federal budget is spent on the four big entitlements! Three times what we spend on the military!

- And of course, not to mention headaches, muscle pain, and restless leg syndrome: Well I know for sure that I would get a headache following the indisputable economic disaster that would occur if Obama gets in with a Democratic congress!

The "there is no such thing as cause and effect" people really chap my brain.

Paul, of Thoughts Of A Regular Guy, refers to himself as a "Regular Guy". Well, if he were, or rather, if the majority of men in the country were like him, this country would be a fantastic place.

My current business travel brought me to Chicago. I have to say I really like this city. The music is great, the food is amazing, and the people are extremely friendly. Last night, I had the high honor of getting to hang out with Paul.

We had dinner at Ballo, which was the single best Italian food I have ever had in my entire life. The wait staff looked like they had just walked off of the set of The Sopranos. I even commented during dinner that our waiter looked like he should be wearing more rings. And nothing goes with dinner like great conversation with a very cool person.

Then Paul showed me around Chicago. He drives a convertible, so I was able to get some great pics, which will be posted soon, along with my NASA pics on my trip to Florida. We did the Batman / Dresden tour, and I got to see a lot of places where Dark Knight was filmed, and some of the more memorable locations mentioned in The Dresden File books.

All in all, I had a great time. Paul is a great guy, and I hereby state that he needs to update the title of his blog. Regular guy... that is a major understatement.

With my new position at work, I have been doing a lot of traveling for training. Currently, I am on my way to Chicago soon, and I am sitting in TGI Fridays at the Pittsburgh airport.

When you travel a lot, you start to notice certain... Archtypes.

For example, at the table in front of me are the frat-boy college students who can't seem to form a coherent sentence without using the "F-word" three times.

Behind me is the couple whom, if they lived with the Sioux Indians, would have been given the name "Eats Like A Cow." And naturally, they ordered something with tortilla chips.

Plenty of the techno-contractors around too, as well as the "sales-suits."

To my left is an older couple on layover on their way home from vacation. Very, how shall we say, unsophisticated. And oh, for joy, the man is blowing his nose REALLY LOUDLY. Mind you, in TGI Fridays. Love to hear the uber-honk with dinner.

Can't Drill Our Way Out

I've noticed a lot of pundits and politicians using the new catchphrase "We can't drill our way out of this", referring to the price of oil / gasoline. This has been parroted by rank and file leftists as the new mantra to make the case for "Magic Pixie Dust Enery." For me, pretty much anyone who says "We can't drill our way out of this", I dismiss anything else they have to say out of hand because they are either 1) liars trying to profit from the suffering of the American people while making the situation worse, 2) absolutely tongue-out retarded, or 3) ignorant of the facts. Unfortunately with many, said ignorance is willful, but I guess that would put them in category 2.

Now, I just want to be clear that this is differentiated from those who believe yes we could drill our way out of this, but they'd prefer not to.

Saying we can't drill our way out of high gas prices is like saying you can't eat your way out of starvation. With ANWR, off shore continental shelf drilling, and the Bakkan range in the Dakotas, we have plenty of oil in the short term. Not to mention the shale oil in Colorado and the vicinity, which contains two to three times more oil than the entire human race has used since oil started being used commercially in the 1860's. And with the technology to extract oil from shale having been around since 1991, it is an absolute shame that this has been put off limits to us.

So, add another phrase to the growing list of the verbal flashing neon signs that say "IDIOT!!! DO NOT TAKE SERIOUSLY!!!" "We can't drill our way out of this" joins the ranks of "Bush stole the election," "Bush lied about WMDs," and "lets raise taxes on *insert group / industry here* to punish them."

Here are a few comments on recent goings on:

- In round two of internet dating since Karen and I broke up. I STILL hate dating!!! Well, the initial "search" phase of it anyway.

- The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the Second Amendment (A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed) is an individual right and not a collective right. I find this decision extremely frightening. Why do I find it frightening? BECAUSE FOUR WORTHLESS LEFTISTS VOTED AGAINST IT!!!

- George Carlin died. This is sad. Its sad anytime anyone dies. It is a downright tragedy when someone dies an atheist...

- Our prayers are with Darrell on his fight against the big "C". Hang in there, man.

- Obama-mania continues to prove that more and more Americans have completely lost their grip on reality. Fortunately, if he gets in office with a Democrat majority in congress, I'll be fine working for a food company. Because people will still need to eat. Plus, I have excellent skills that are in high demand. However, I shall sit back and LAUGH MY ASS OFF as all the smack-tard youngins that voted for him can't find jobs, have to pay high prices for food, and have to pay $10-$15 a gallon for gas! Have fun living in the world you created! Kind of like now how college kids are whining and crying that they can't find summer jobs. Yeah, but at least if you HAD a minimum wage job, that minimum wage would be higher than it was, right? Then when you realize what a fucking moronic ass-hat you are for putting those emotional wastes of human life in office, go in the corner, sit down, and let the adults with brains handle things. 2010 will be awesome.
